The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office has identified the vehicle may have been involved in a fatal hit and run accident. The vehicle has been taken into evidence for processing.
Deputies learned about the hit and run after making a welfare check to a residence at the 12700 block of 18th St SE in Lake Stevens around 5:30 PM last night where a domestic disturbance had been reported. In the process of interviewing the residents of the house, deputies were led to a vehicle which had suspicious marks indicating it had may have been used in a pedestrian hit and run. Deputies followed up on information they gleaned from further questioning and found a woman’s body at the 4400 block of S. Machias Rd. It is believed her body may have been there since 5:15 AM that morning.
At this point, no arrests have been made, but detectives expect to recommend charges following further investigation.
Identity of the victim will be provided by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office, as well as manner and cause of death.
