STANWOOD - The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office responded to an assault with a weapon call at the 9900 block of 272nd Pl NW in Stanwood at approximately 3 PM today. A 59 year-old male employee of an assisted living facility had been shot and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in what was believed to be stable condition.
Deputies have detained an 86 year-old male suspect, a resident of the facility, and the weapon has been secured. All other residents of the facility are safe and secure, although access to the premises is limited at this time. The incident is under investigation.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office detectives have arrested the 86 year-old male suspected of shooting an employee of a Stanwood assisted living facility earlier today. The suspect will booked into the Snohomish County Jail for 1st degree assault.
