Sultan – Several Snohomish County agencies will be conducting a mass casualty training exercise next Tuesday morning in Sultan. The exercise will involve simulating a school bus collision and roll-over, with 20-30 student actors from Sultan High School aboard. (The bus will be rolled over on its side and any hazards removed, such as fuel, glass, and sharp metal, prior to students entering the vehicle.)
Snohomish County Fire District 5 will lead the exercise, with assistance from the Sultan School District, City of Sultan, Airlift NW, and the county’s Department of Emergency Management, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Sheriff’s Office.
The exercise will provide an opportunity for local agencies to practice critical incident response, as well as monitor and evaluate cooperation and communication between emergency response, law enforcement, and school personnel.
