Today at about 11:00 A.M. Deputies with the Snohomish County Sheriffs Office were in the 15100 block of SR 99 where they contacted a 35 year old male. The Deputy checked the subject over the radio for warrants. Prior to any information returning the subject ran from the Deputies into a nearby apartment complex. The subject had two felony warrants, one for Escape and the other for Fail to Register as an RSO. A K9 track was initiated to locate the suspect.
While the Deputies and K9 were searching for the man, dispatch received a call from another man reporting that his wife had texted a message to him to call the police. There as no other information in the text. He reported that his wife, a 22 year old woman, was at their apartment in the same complex where Deputies were searching for the man who fled earlier. Deputies responded to the apartment where the suspect was arrested without incident. The suspect did not know the woman or her husband. The woman was not injured. Her ability to remain calm and have the presence of mind to text her husband to call the police was instrumental in this incident being resolved without injury.
The suspect was in the apartment for about 30 minutes as her husband did not immediately see the text message.
The suspect is from Snohomish County. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on the warrants and burglary charges.
