Request the return of Property or Evidence
Safekeeping or Found Property – call the Evidence Unit for an
appointment. The
Evidence Room holds found property for sixty (60) days, after
which time items may be disposed of per state law.
Items of a personal nature such as credit cards are
destroyed, or in the case of identification (passports or
military ID or mail) are returned to the proper agency.
Evidence – In most cases, deputies and/or prosecutors must
approve release of evidence.
Appointments are required
for all property releases.
Items may require special handling so appointments are
necessary.
In addition, background checks are required for the release of
any firearm, even if you possess a Concealed Pistol License
(CPL).
What You’ll Need:
You will need to provide the following information:
1.
Picture ID (state-issued identification card, driver’s license,
passport or military ID is required at the time of release.
2.
Photocopies are not accepted.
