Cold Cases
In 2005 Detectives James Scharf and David Heitzman were assigned to investigate about 65 unsolved homicide and missing person cases dating back to 1962.  Civilian volunteers Chuck Wright, Mikelle Gaines and Teresa Cox work exclusively on the Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Team which is part of the Major Crimes Unit.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Unit has created a deck of playing cards and distributed them to local inmates. Each Sunday for a year, the Everett Herald is publishing a story about a cold case featured on one of the cards. The 52 cards can be viewed at http://www.heraldnet.com

Anyone with information about unsolved homicides or missing persons cases is asked to call 800-222-TIPS (8477). Up to a $1,000 reward is offered. Tips also can be left on the Sheriff's tip line at (425) 388-3845. Callers may remain anonymous, although tips have been more successful when callers speak with detectives, police said. The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office Cold Case Detectives are trying to identify the victim of a 1977  murder case.  The murder case is solved, but the victim has never been identified.  Please CLICK HERE to view a larger composite photo.

Please call the SCSO Tip Line at (425) 388-3845 if you have any information on this case or if you reported a girl missing in the late 1970's who fits the description of our Jane Doe.  We will then verify that the girl's name is still in the state and national databases for missing person.  We will need the missing girl's first name, middle initial, last name and date of birth.
